More DWA Product

Netflix and DreamWorks, they are going to keep on being a couple. (Which is good, since they're so cute together).

Netflix and DreamWorks Animation will expand their partnership to include new series and more family-targeted entertainment, the companies announced Tuesday, “making Netflix the global home, outside of China” for the shows, they said, and covering streaming rights to the DreamWorks Animation feature film library. ...

Netflix plans to launch several new series from DWA in the coming year, including a reimagining of Voltron, and the new series, Trollhunters, from Guillermo del Toro. ... In addition, the deal extends the rights of current original series for kids from the studio available on the service throughout operating Netflix markets as well as expanding to include second window rights for the series everywhere around the world, outside of China. Series include The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Dinotrux and Dragons: Race to the Edge, among others. ...

This is excellent news for animation employees, because it means there will be more jobs. It's a safe bet that some work will flow to Canada, the land of Free Money, but more work (and more of it longer) should be percolating in the East San Fernando Valley.

That's MY hope and assumption, at any rate.

Let's not forget about their production deal with DHX, with the animation production definitely being done in Canada.

What do they mean by "second window"?
